Non Formal Education Centre

 

Naihati Prolife is engaged with child development activities for the down trodden children. It was initiated with a Night Drop In Centre for the children of sex workers in the year 1996. Now the organization is running a Non Formal Education Centre for a total of 60 children near Naihati Railway Station where the children get a few hours of free air.

Another Nonformal education centre is going on at Pandua Red Light Area where almost 50 children of commercial sex workers get basic education and cultural education. Organization tries to nurture their latent creative genius through various cultural activities. The activity also extended for Railway slum children within project command area of Naihati Prolife.

Since past years Naihati Prolife developed a network with Railway administration and RPF authority to serve better service to the platform children. Now sealdaha division of eastern railway provide us space to run non formal education centre. The RPF is providing mid day meal to the children once a week as nutritional support to them.
